For elective officers of the Section, this committee shall report to the Section at the annual business meeting of the Section and place in nominations of at least one eligible candidate for each of the offices to be filled (except for the Exhibits Committee Chair). Other nominations may be made by Section members from the floor. Nomina-tions may not be closed until full opportunity has been given to permit nominations for the floor. The new officers shall then be elected by vote of the members present. Voting may be “via voce” or by ballot, at the dis-cretion of the Chair. 5. For all other officers and officials, after consulta-tion with the Divisions and Program Directors, the committee shall fur-nish the names of candidates for non-elective Section appointments of the Section Chair by May 15th of each year. Except for good cause, such nominations shall be ratified by the Board at its July meeting, through the Consent Calendar. Approved non-elective candidates shall assume their positions at the conclusion of the Fall Conference. 6. With the concurrence of the Section Chair, it com-ments and makes recommendations to State and Federal agencies on behalf of the Section. Smith, Jonathan Weininger SECTION COUNCILS Scholarship Bruce Macler, Chair The Section is offering four $2500 scholarships for those pursuing a two-year or four-year college degree program and offering two $5000 scholarships for those pursuing graduate studies at the Masters or Doctorate levels. The CA-NV Section AWWA Scholarship Committee will evaluate scholarship applications and consider the following criteria: The quality and completeness of the application The qualifications of the applicant Content of the essay(s) Strength of recommendations Other information provided by the applicant Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, creed, color, sex, age or national origin. Eligibility and awards are determined at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
