COMMITTEES Manufacturers & Associates Ken Malone, Chair The council shall: provide responsible representation for and involvement of Manufacturer and Associate Members, develop programs and activities for Manufacturer and Associate Members, encourage their membership and participation in the Section, provide policy input and develop response and commitment within the framework of the Section on matters affecting Manufacturer and Associate Members. Wilson Jr. Workforce Development Council Vacant, Chair The Workforce Development Council is responsible for directing the administration of the Section apprenticeship programs: Water Distribution Operators/Associate, Grade 1-3; Water Treatment Operator/Associate, Grade 1-3; and Electrical/Technicians. Subject to Governing Board approval, this Council works with existing rules governing certification and monitors the examination required for the different levels of certification. It shall be involved in training operators and technicians in each program and shall work with certified educational entities in these areas. Successful candidates in the program will have the opportunity to obtain a certification based on what program they are a part of. Rovanpera, John Standi Jr., Tim Worley Water Loss Control Sue Mosburg, Chair The California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association will lead a broad group of utilities and organizations that have come together to combat water loss in California. This partnership will improve knowledge of water utility personnel in the areas of identification and control of real or apparent losses from their systems. The Water Loss Control Collaborative will be a strong and Coordinated program that makes use of the strengths of all parties involved. This program will reduce water waste, which will be of great value for more efficient utilities and more resilience during times of drought.
