Certifiers, employers, and the public can simply click to verify the information presented and can be confident knowing that it is accurate, up-to-date, and always available. Begin your PO journey PO applicants have a wide variety of tools and resources at their fingertips both during the PO application process and after they earn their certification. The application process is completed entirely online through the PO Portal that allows operators to build professional profiles that document general and continuing education, work experience, and certification history. After meeting the education and job requirements and passing a challenging exam, operators earn the PO designa-tion and gain the opportunity for career advancement and certification versatility. After certification, POs can continue to update their profiles to prepare for recertification and to have an online record of their career. Gavin Moore joined the Association of Boards of Certification in 2011 to assist in the development of the Model Standards of Operator Certification that was published in January 2014. As Certification Manager, Gavin currently serves as the staff liaison to ABC’s Certification Commission for Environmental Professionals and administers their voluntary certification programs on their behalf. Since joining ABC, he has completed professional development in personnel certification and water environment operations through the American National Standards Institute, Institute of Credentialing Excellence, and California State University, Sacramento.
