Summer 2020 issue offered insights from a four-year effort
to managing assets as infrastructure ages. The evaluation
panel lauded the article for its clear, easy-to-read writing,
excellent structure and reporting of new research in a way
that makes it accessible to a broad audience.
Kudos to Small Systems
Each year we also salute the efforts
of smaller utilities, which have to
perform all the same duties and
have the responsibilities as larger
agencies, but often with limited
staff, funds and resources. The CA-NV
Section Smaller Utility Award
is for them, and winners are chosen
by the Smaller Utilities Committee.
This year, we honored the Mi-Wuk
Village Mutual Water Company in
Tuolumne County, California, and
the city of Dunsmuir, in Siskiyou
City of Dunsmuir
The city of Dunsmuir takes water seriously. Just take a look
at the city’s official slogan: Home of the best water on Earth.
The picturesque small city at the base of Mount Shasta may
not have a stoplight but it is proud that it serves its 3,000
