the City of Napa’s Water Division. She has been a consultant for
Levine Fricke, managing remediation sites in the Bay Area. In 2004
she moved to the Contra Costa Water District prior to joining the
City of Napa. She is the CA-NV AWWA Water Quality Division Chair.
Future Challenges: Naegleria fowleri Willie Frehner is the
Principal Laboratory Scientist-Microbiology for the Southern
Nevada Water Authority. He has a B.S. in Biology from UNLV and
currently maintains Water Quality Analyst III and Distribution
System Operator I certifications.
CA-NV AWWA Updates BMP Manual for Drinking Water
System Releases Brandy Hancocks has more than 18 years of
experience managing environmental compliance issues in several
industries. In her role as Manager of Environmental Compliance for
Golden State Water Company, she and her team oversee compliance
and training for 38 water systems, serving 1 million customers across
10 counties in California. She is the CA-NV AWWA Operations and
Maintenance Division Chair.
Disinfection Byproducts: Where Are We? Djanette Khiari is a
Research Manager at the Water Research Foundation and is the lead
of the DBP Knowledge Area. She holds Master and Ph.D. degrees
from Drexel University, Philadelphia.
Talkin’ UCMR3 Blues…Risk, Regulatory “Risk” and Public
Health Bruce A. Macler, PhD, is the water program toxicologist for
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9. He participates
in drinking water regulatory workgroups, helps coordinate agency
water research projects, and provides risk information to the public.
He is currently the Chair of the CA-NV Section.
