Reflections From the Chair, Continued from page 5
And finally, Section branding. Going forward, what do we want to
be known for, counted on to deliver, and/or expected to be proactive
about? This task will involve the members through surveys, focus
groups, and other outreach to garner ideas and input on this important
topic. Having a brand we all embrace as representative of who
we are now and what we want to be in the future is vital for guiding
the organization forward. Branding will also lead to what alliances
and partnerships the Section chooses to invest in over time. Section
staff will be very involved in the process and encouraging members
to be engaged and contributing to the process.
Speaking of the bottom line, I would like to thank the Section
members for providing me with the honor to serve as your
2012-13 Chair. This opportunity has been very humbling to me,
and I intend to work hard on moving us forward so that future
Chairs can take the baton in stride as was provided to me.
If you have any great ideas on how we can better deliver services
to you, improve member value, learn more about volunteer
opportunities, or otherwise improve the Section please send
your thoughts to us through the Section website (www.ca-nvawwa.
org) and we will consider it! Stay involved and remember
don’t ask “What can my Section do for me?” instead ask “What
can I do for my Section?” S
