Start spreading the word: Applications for CA-NV AWWA student
scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year are now available.
If you are a student, or have a student, or know a student who is
interested in a career in a drinking water related field, we’re looking
for candidates. CA-NV AWWA offers four $2,500 scholarships for
students in two-year or four-year college degree programs and two
$5,000 scholarships for students pursuing Master’s and Doctoral
degrees. It also offers two $1,000 scholarships for students training
as water system operators.
The goal of the scholarship program is to support students
planning careers in the water profession, including water and
wastewater treatment plant operators, field and distribution
system operators, chemists, lab technicians, biologists, ecologists,
environmental and civil engineers, mechanical/electrical/plumbing
trades, environmental scientists, public administrators, financiers,
and economists, whatever supports safe drinking water.
Beside the monetary awards, awardees receive complimentary
AWWA student memberships for the duration of their degree
program and will be recognized at the CA-NV AWWA Annual Fall
Conference. Awardees of graduate scholarships will be invited to
present their work at future CA-NV AWWA conferences. Application
forms and detailed instructions are available at ca-nv-awwa.org. S
